Per RIGL § 45-24-31, effective March 1, 2019, the Zoning Enabling statutes are changing with regard to measuring building heights for structures located in certain flood hazard areas. Local regulations must comport.
Zoning ordinance amendments in East Greenwich require three readings including one advertised public hearing. Per Section 260-82 (E) of the Zoning Code, zoning amendments must be advertised for three consecutive weeks leading up to the scheduled public hearing. The Town Council should set a date to take the matter up again. The Planning Board is required to review and recommend all proposed zoning amendments and they conducted their review on February 6 (Memo from the Chair is provided separately).
Approved as introduced on February 25, 2019.
